Super Bowl Entertainment: Jay-Z Headlines 2027 Halftime Show

Jay-Z will headline the Super Bowl halftime show on Feb. 14 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. The NFL, Apple Music, and Roc Nation confirmed the announcement Monday night. This marks a shift in role for the artist, who has previously served as a producer and advisor for the league's entertainment events.

Roc Nation has partnered with the NFL since 2019 to help create the halftime presentations. During that initial agreement, Jay-Z told NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell that if the deal was about him performing, they could end the conversation. Seven years later, the artist is set to take the stage himself. The performance will occur at the same venue where he recently closed his "Jay-Z 30" tour. That series began with three shows at Yankee Stadium in New York, moved to London, and concluded in Southern California over the weekend.

Born Shawn Carter, Jay-Z holds 25 Grammy Awards and has received 89 nominations. He ranks second in Grammy history behind his wife, Beyoncé, who has performed at two previous Super Bowls. His discography includes albums such as "Reasonable Doubt," "The Blueprint," and "The Black Album." Notable tracks include "99 Problems" and "Empire State of Mind." His 1996 debut album, "Reasonable Doubt," was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame last year.

Beyond music, Jay-Z has built a career in publishing, management, and sports. He co-founded Roc-A-Fella Records and launched Roc Nation in 2008. The company now works with various artists and athletes. In 2017, he became the first rapper inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. He joined the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2021.

The previous Super Bowl halftime show featured Bad Bunny in February. Following that performance, Bad Bunny’s songs saw sharp increases across streaming charts, playlists, and music discovery platforms. Jay-Z’s upcoming appearance is scheduled for the same venue where he finished his recent concert run.
