Tensions in the Middle East have escalated as the U.S. military finalized plans for fresh attacks on Iran. President Donald Trump is currently evaluating these options while facing a tight timeline before the November 3 midterm elections.

CNN reported on October 26 that American forces in the region could launch major operations within 96 hours of receiving presidential authorization. The military has identified specific targets for these potential strikes, which include Iranian military facilities, nuclear sites, and energy infrastructure.

Officials are simultaneously assessing the risk of retaliation against U.S. personnel and installations across the region. This preparation is distinct from a final presidential decision to proceed, meaning no final order to attack has been announced yet.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reportedly urged further military action. However, his office disputes aspects of the accounts regarding recent discussions with Washington. The timing of these preparations raises questions given Trump's previous indication that he would not authorize new attacks before Election Day.

Regional security concerns have also prompted discussions about reducing American diplomatic personnel in certain locations. The military remains in a state of readiness, waiting for the president to make the final call on whether to strike.
