Vanessa Trump confirmed on Friday that her recent medical tests showed no signs of breast cancer. The 48-year-old shared the update in a short video posted to the Instagram account of her eldest daughter, Kai. In the clip, Vanessa Trump stated that her results came back clear, meaning she is finally free of the disease.

She first received the diagnosis in April. She made the news public in May, revealing that she had undergone surgery and was developing a treatment plan with her doctors. Her husband at the time, Donald Trump Jr., is the eldest son of President Donald Trump. They have five children together and separated in 2018. Vanessa Trump began dating professional golfer Tiger Woods last year.

Kai Trump wrote in the caption that the short video previews a longer release scheduled for Saturday. In that upcoming video, the mother and daughter discuss breast cancer awareness and prevention. Kai Trump noted that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a period dedicated to early detection and support. She added that she sat down with her mother and Dr. Nicole Saphier to learn more about prevention and early detection.

The post on social media received more than 20,000 likes. Hundreds of comments followed, many offering support and good wishes. Among those who commented was American singer and media personality Mary Millben.

The American Cancer Society reports that the average risk of a woman in the US developing breast cancer is about 1 in 8, or 13%. The organization states that the disease accounts for 30% of all new female cancers each year. Surgery cures most breast cancers. When some disease remains, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and endocrine therapy can lower the long-term risk. Treatment methods continue to advance, including targeted therapies for early breast cancer, new hormonal therapies, and more precise radiotherapy.
