Miyu Yamashita retained her crown at the Maybank Championship on Sunday, finishing two strokes ahead of the field. The Japanese pro, who captured the 2025 Women's British Open, completed a 72-hole score of 22-under 266 at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club.

Yamashita maintained the lead from the final hole of the second round on Friday through the last putt of the tournament. Her final round card featured five birdies and a single bogey on the par-4 ninth hole. This performance secured her fifth career professional victory and her second win on the LPGA Tour this year.

Her previous triumph came in August at the CPKC Women's Open in Edmonton, Alberta, where she recorded a nine-stroke wire-to-wire victory at Royal Mayfair. The current win extends her streak of top finishes in the late-season Asian swing.

China's Yan Liu finished in second place at 18-under 268. The 2025 runner-up in this event shot a 63 on Saturday to move into contention and matched that pace with another 68 on Sunday. Despite consistent scoring, Liu could not close the two-stroke deficit to the leader.

Pauline Roussin-Bouchard, who led after the opening round, shot a 69 on the final day to tie for third. Thailand amateur Marisa Tojai also finished tied for third after a 67. Australia's Robyn Choi placed fifth at 17-under 271 following a final round 69.

The LPGA Tour's four-week late-season Asian series continues next week with the Toto Japan Classic scheduled at Omitama near Tokyo.
