The Bloomington Recreation and Park District hosted its ninth annual Trunk or Treat event at Ayala Park on Saturday, Oct. 24. More than 3,500 residents and guests attended the gathering, which featured costumes, candy, and community activities.
San Bernardino County departments, local families, and community partners hosted over 40 decorated vehicle trunks. Children dressed as superheroes, princesses, and ghosts moved through the park to collect treats from these displays.
The evening included a costume contest, a Best Trunk contest, and a lineup of food vendors. A live DJ provided music for the crowd, while the San Bernardino County Fire Department allowed families to inspect their fire apparatus up close. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Fontana Station, provided security for the event.
Officials from the district recognized Joe Baca, Jr., the Vice Chair of the Board of Supervisors and Fifth District Supervisor. They cited his office for its ongoing support of local parks, recreation, and community programming.
The Bloomington Recreation and Park District is part of the San Bernardino County Public Works Special Districts division. The organization focuses on creating spaces and experiences that bring residents together.
The event concluded with the district setting the stage for the 10th Annual Trunk or Treat, which will take place next year.
