Rick Jackson held a campaign rally in Cumming, Georgia, on Sunday night.

The Republican gubernatorial nominee addressed a crowd of dozens of supporters in Forsyth County. The event served as his final public appearance before voters cast ballots on Tuesday.

Jackson, a healthcare executive, took the stage with his wife and son. Both family members spoke to the audience during the gathering. Several Georgia Republican leaders also delivered remarks to the group.

During his speech, Jackson detailed his economic plan for the state. He proposed cutting the state income tax by half. He also pledged to freeze property taxes for all Georgians.

The candidate framed his platform around relief for working families. He stated his intention to build on existing opportunities while addressing challenges that hinder families.

"We will build on the things that brought opportunity here and get after the challenges still holding families back," Jackson told the crowd.

Jackson directly attacked his Democratic opponent, Keisha Lance Bottoms. Bottoms, the former Atlanta mayor, ran on a platform focused on affordability, healthcare access, and housing.

Jackson argued that Bottoms' leadership in Atlanta did not prepare her to lead the state. He told supporters that her past record should influence their vote.

"She had a chance to lead. She had to show a chance to show what she does when people are counting on her, and we saw it. We can't let her do to Georgia what she did to Atlanta because there is one simple truth. She cannot campaign her way around; bad mayors don't make good governors," Jackson said.

Supporter Scott Ridling expressed optimism about the race. He told the audience, "We're just hopeful that he can turn out a win."

Campaign officials announced that Jackson would launch a statewide get-out-the-vote tour on Monday. The tour includes scheduled stops in Canton, Perry, Albany, Savannah, and Augusta.

Jackson is scheduled to watch the election results with supporters in Sandy Springs on Tuesday night. He will compete with Bottoms to succeed term-limited Gov. Brian Kemp.
