A 59-year-old registered sex offender faces 10 counts of first-degree voyeurism after a Huntsville police investigation.

Daren William Mount was arrested on Monday. He was placed on police radar after an employee at a local business reported seeing concerning images while helping him transfer digital files.

The Special Task Force Rescuing and Investigating Kid Exploitation team found pictures and videos of children. Investigators stated that some images were taken at angles showing intimate areas and that some recordings appeared to be taken in public places. They also noted that some of the images were manipulated.

Mount has a prior record of child-related offenses. Federal court records show he pleaded guilty to receipt of child pornography in 2013. He was sentenced to 84 months in prison and 240 months of supervised release. The 2011 indictment stated his crime spanned from 2003 to 2010, when he viewed child sexual abuse material on a laptop.

Since his 2019 release, Mount returned to prison twice for violating release terms. A federal judge later ordered him to be under supervised release for life following one of those violations. HPD seized electronic devices during the Monday arrest, and forensic specialists are currently examining them. Police said Mount could face additional charges.
